Brooklyn's One Year Pictures

At a year Brooklyn's stats are 17 pounds 10 ounces. I can't remember her length off the top off my head and I never really think they are all that accurate in measuring anyway. I remember thinking Weston was small and he was 20 pounds at a year. She is a tiny little princess. I find it hard to believe because the girl eats all the time! She loves food. It's rare to give her something she doesn't want to eat and usually she finishes off what Weston leaves over. I think she has that Gilliam metabolism, how great for her!

How is it possible that she is ONE?

Or for that matter nearly 16 months since we all know that I am posting this nearly four months late!
Her party was so much fun and I had a great time planning and making it as pink as I possibly could. Brooklyn did a good job getting herself pink too! She loves cake about as much as her Mama. At a year she is all smiles, loves to cuddle, and is such a joy. We love more than I ever thought possible. How could I have known how much Mommy, Daddy and Weston would need you in our lives sweet Brooklyn. You bring all of us such joy.

At our family reunion in Las Cruces the weekend before Brooklyn's party, we ran into Super K Mart. After a night of no sleep we realized pretty quick that Brooklyn needed a real pack n play and not the metal cage thing at the hotel. We didn't find a pack n play but I did find the cute "Brooklyn" t-shirt for the bargain price of $9.99. I think it would totally fun to go to New York and load up on Brooklyn T-Shirts. For that matter I might drop by the Westin Hotel and get a few t-shirts to represent my sweet baby boy. Except then it would be spelled wrong and that really bugs me. If you happen to notice the "B" spray painted on the concrete in our backyard I thought it would be a nice touch. I hung butterflies from the ceiling moved furniture and had about 50 wooden pinwheels all throught the inside and outside, paid a ridiculous amount on cupcakes that so weren't my vision of what I wanted and started planning her party right after she was born. So would I really go as far to paint a B that will NOT ever fade or go away? No, I wouldn't go that far. I was spray painting primer on her letters in her room before she was born and for whatever reason thought the primer was clear. It obviously was not clear and a year later it's still there and going strong. I think I might add a "W" to give both kids proper recognition. Oh well it fit the theme of Brooklyn and Butterflies.

Everyone's Turning 30!

Pretty much everyone of our good friends is celebrating the big 3-0 this year. Unfortunately we have missed lots of parties but we did get to go to Austin's. It was baseball games complete with a pretty pink limo! For my 30th Jeremy and I went to Capital Grille and stayed downtown for the night. The next day we got have the couple's spa package. Lots of fun and it was nice to get away with my sweet hubby. I would post pics from that but it seems I am in the same dress that I have been wearing in several other occasions on the blog! It does make me feel better for what I spent on that dress :)

I just have to post pics from Austin's b-day. Pink limo and all!

Guess I should explain about the pink Limo. Jami's good friend Sue (in the white) and her husband have a Pretty Pink Limo company. It was available the night of Austin's party so she us cruise around in it before and after the Astros game. It was so much fun! Most of the time it gets used to take little girls to the Hannah Montana Concert or for birthdays or showers or stuff like that.

Dirt Pie

We spent Memorial Day at Amy and Gary's and had a blast. All the boys play really well together and Brooklyn is always excited to see her Baby BFF McKenna. It was Jeremy's Birthday so I brought his absolute favorite dessert, Oreo Dirt Pie. Anytime I ask him what he would like for dessert this is what he wants. Apparently Brooklyn loves it too. I didn't find out until later that you shouldn't give chocolate to babies under one, oops. For whatever reason Brooklyn was bib-less. Thanks to my fabulous new washer and dryer their wasn't an Oreo to be seen after this outfit was washed! This is the washer and dryer that makes me LOVE doing laundry. It also provides family entertainment to watch the clothes spinning around because the lid is see through. It can also hold 29 towels or something crazy like that. This was a selling point to me because if I can't wash the sheets plus the mattress pad and maybe quilt all together it's just not worth the time. I know Mom you are shaking your head and thinking none of the stuff is getting clean but I beg to differ!

Anyway here's an action shot of the boys on the massive water slide!

Can't wait for summer!

Weston loves the splash pad! Brooklyn would rather sit on the sidelines and watch. Just being the princess she knows she is! She loves to be in the pool but not a fan of water splashing all over her. I would have to agree.

Bowser

Weston loves to dress up. Here he is telling me he wants to be Bowser from Nintendo.

Not sure I did exactly what he had in mind. But I don't have to many goo goo bowser costumes laying around. Spiderman, Buzz, Batman, Superman, Cowboy those things we have. But when he start using his imagination that's where we get into trouble! ha ha!

Thankfully he has already decided he wants to be Darth Vader for Halloween. That one I can do or at least buy somewhere. We'll see if he stays with this I think it would be really cute to have Brooklyn be Princess Laia. He also wants a Star Wars birthday party for when is finally 'big and five!"

Back to the Nintendo characters, he only plays Mario when he is with Hunter and Hayden. He does have it on his Gameboy but usually only plays that on a long trip somewhere. However, he talks about these characters like they are his best friends. Mario, Luigi, Loshi (yoshi), Bowser and Princess Peach. Princess Peach is usually who I get to be when we are playing. Cause Mom your a girl so you have to be the girl. Makes sense to me! Yoshi is usually always with us. Driving next to us in the car or flying to our house in his Shrek airplane. We went to eat one night and he just knew Yoshi was going to be there. When we got to the restaurant he was so sad that Yoshi didn't come. He told me he must not have had the right directions. I thought these guys were all invisible so I pointed to a table and said "look there's Yoshi right there" "Mommy he's not here you would see him" Oh, well of course I would. Guess you're right Weston we need to get him directions. Later that night he drew out a map to our house that he wanted me to mail to Yoshi. Weston's imagination is quite large and I need to make one really long post all about his Shrek house. Don't you dare ask if Shrek lives there. That will get you a very frustrated no!

W.W.W. or Wendy's Wedding Weekend

Wendy and Kyle got married in Temecula, CA just outside of San Diego. It was gorgeous! We stayed a winery and had such a good time.

It made me want to get married all over again, to the same man of course! Such a beautiful and romantic setting.

Wendy was my roommate our senior year of college. In fact we both worked at a church daycare but we hadn't really met officially. We knew Brooke in common but that was about it. One day we finally worked together and she needed a roommate and my roommate had just gotten married so the first time we met we decided to live together! She is definitely one of my life long friends.
